We are looking for new volunteers who are interested in joining as construction volunteers when the site opens in late Summer. Responsibilities: · Working on construction-related tasks with other volunteers · Following all safety guidelines · Reporting directly to the Habitat Portland Region staff at the site Training and Support: · No Experience Necessary! · Volunteers receive direction and support from Habitat construction staff and Construction Core Volunteers on site · Habitat Portland Region will provide all the tools and supplies needed for a build · After 6-8 shifts and a staff recommendation, opportunity to move to become a Construction Core volunteer to have access to more shifts and additional volunteer perks Expectations: · Time Commitment: Volunteers must be able to commit to the entire shift (8:30am-3:00pm). We understand that life happens but please stay until we are all cleaned up for the day. · Age requirement: Must be at least 16 years old, some limitations apply for 16- and 17-year-olds. Not all sites will have youth opportunities. · Qualifications: Volunteers must sign a Release and Waiver of Liability online before coming to site, agree to the equity statement, and the volunteer manual · Clothing Requirement: Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty, including with paint. · Items to Bring: Please come equipped with a water bottle and lunch This is a volunteer opportunity.
