At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a stable and affordable place to call home. Founded in 1981, we have built and repaired homes in partnership with over 2,000 people across the Portland region. With plans to triple the number of people we serve every year, we are invested in creating a region where everyone has the opportunity to build a better life.

Group Volunteers

Construction sites are a popular option to gather a group of co-workers, faith members, or friends together for a day of building together! 

Group Opportunity Quick Facts:

• Booking: 2-6 weeks out from desired month
• Shifts: 8:30am-3:00pm
• Size: 5-10 group members
• Age: 18 and over

Individual Volunteers

Thousands of volunteers come together each year to help Habitat build homes–nail by nail, board by board! Volunteers work on nearly every facet of home construction, helping with dozens of tasks ranging from painting to framing and finishing work. Volunteers do not need to have any prior experience in construction. Our work would not be possible without the support of volunteers!

Habitat Build Days take place year-round 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Volunteers must commit to the entire build day.

Core Volunteers

After coming out to a site for a consistent 6-8 Daily shifts, if you would like to become more involved, please reach out to learn about becoming a Core volunteer! Core volunteers have committed to being on site at least 2 days a month for the foreseeable future. They also commit to continued learning of skills alongside other volunteers and staff.

Along with learning more skills and having access to additional shifts. Core volunteers receive invites to special volunteer engagement opportunities, yearly swag and other perks!
