Tigard ReStore | All Day

General Description:

ReStore volunteers help support daily operations by receiving and processing donations, organizing and displaying merchandise, and providing excellent customer service. Volunteers in this role are also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and user-friendly ReStore.   

Task Descriptions: 

• Dock: Assist in screening, unloading, and organizing donations
• Processing: Sort donations, tag items, move items to the sales floor, and sort by type
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service on the dock and in the store
• Sales Floor: Merchandise items to create and maintain a safe and user-friendly shopping experience
• Reset Displays: Restock and reorganize sections of the store
• Cleaning: Sweep and keep the aisles clear of debris. Maintain common areas such as the breakroom.

Supervisor:

The Volunteer Coordinator will be the primary supervisor. However, all ReStore staff members are responsible for assisting and overseeing the work of volunteers. 

Physical Requirements: 

This role includes walking, standing, potentially squatting or crouching, pushing carts, moving items on dollies, and more. If you have any physical limitations, please notify the Volunteer Coordinator.

Dress Code:

Closed-toed shoes, pants knee-length or longer, t-shirt/sweatshirt, comfortable loose-fitting work clothes, no sleeveless shirts or tank tops, no rips/stains/tears, etc. Recommended to wear layers as temperatures in the store can vary.

• Snack/Lunch (if volunteering for longer than 2 hours)
