Description: ReStore Assistants help support daily operations by helping receive and process donations, organize and display merchandise, and provide excellent customer service. Volunteers in this role are also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and user-friendly ReStore.
Duties:
Dock: Assist in screening, unloading, and organizing donations as they come in
Processing: Sort donations, tag items, move items to sales floor and sort by type
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service on the dock and in the store
Sales Floor: Merchandise items to create and maintain a safe and user-friendly shopping experience
Reset Displays: Restock and reorganize sections of the store
Supervisor: All ReStore staff members are responsible for overseeing the work of ReStore Assistants. However, the ReStore supervisors will direct most daily tasks with the support of ReStore Associates. The Manager, Assistant Manager, and Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for formal performance management.
Commitment: We ask that ReStore Assistants commit to two shifts per month (preferably once per week). This helps the training process move along and also allows volunteers to work more independently after training.
Physical Requirements: ReStore Assistants should be able to be on their feet for up to 4 hours. This will include walking, standing, potentially squatting or crouching, pushing carts, moving items on dollies, and more.
