Group volunteers are members of our community coming together with coworkers, faith organizations, or friends to volunteer on a special event day. Group volunteers get the opportunity to connect with Habitat and provide many hands to get work done!
Outline of Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Working on construction-related tasks with homebuyers and/or other volunteers
- Following safety guidelines
- Reporting directly to the Habitat Portland Region staff person at the site
Training and Support:
- No Experience Necessary!
- Volunteers receive direction and support from Habitat construction staff and Construction Regular Volunteers on site
- Habitat Portland Region will provide all the tools and supplies needed for a build
Expectations:
- Time Commitment: Volunteers must be able to commit to the entire shift. We understand that life happens but please stay until we are all cleaned up for the day.
- Age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old
- Qualifications: Volunteers must sign a Release and Waiver of Liability online before coming to site
- Clothing Requirement: Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty.
- Items to Bring: Please come equipped with a water bottle and lunch
